Biography

Kim Webb established a record of excellence in Middle Tennessee high school and college basketball that propelled her to the top among all-time leading female athletes in the Ohio Valley Conference. A native of LaVergne, she led Smyrna High School to its first-ever state basketball championship and remains its all-time scoring leader. For her excellence, Webb was voted the Mid-State Most Valuable Player and the TSSAA State Tournament MVP in both her junior and senior years. With 2,148 total points scored, she remains the all-time leading scorer in Middle Tennessee women’s high school basketball history. Next Webb attended Middle Tennessee State University, where she led the Lady Blue Raiders to four regular season Ohio Valley Conference championships and three consecutive appearances in the NCAA tournament. For her outstanding performance, she was named a First Team All-American by the American Women’s Sports Federation and the OVC Tournament MVP in 1986. Webb was the first woman to be inducted into the MTSU Hall of Fame, receiving that honor in July 1998. She still holds records as MTSU’s all-time leader in scoring average, games started, steals, field goals made, field goals attempted, and double-figure scoring games. Kim Webb’s outstanding performance on the courts of Smyrna High School and Middle Tennessee State University is a source of pride for her community and her state.
