2004 Amateur Team of the Year

Farragut High School Boy's Soccer Team

This year, two high school teams are being honored for their outstanding records and also for their most unusual connection. Both the Farragut boys' soccer and baseball teams had excellent seasons in 2003. Coincidentally, both teams won their AAA State Championships on the same day, on side-by-side fields, and each lost only one game during the season.

The boy's soccer team ended the season with a 25-1-0 record that included twelve shutouts. Over the season, the Farragut Admirals scored 154 goals to their opponents' 15. The team won the State Championship on April 17th in front of the largest crowd to ever attend a high school soccer game in Tennessee. The Admirals finished the season ranked No. 2 in the nation and their coach, Wallie Culbreth, was named National High School Coach of the Year.
