2005 Professional Team of the Year

Memphis Grizzlies

Under the leadership of Coach Hubie Brown, the Memphis Grizzlies set numerous franchise records and had a number of memorable moments in the 2003-04 NBA season.

Last season, the Grizzlies won 50 games, earning their first-ever winning record. They shattered the team record for most wins before the All-Star Break with 30 (more than double the previous record of 14). They set a new team record winning eight straight in January, and they clinched their first-ever playoff berth on March 28 with nine games left to play in the season.

The Memphis Grizzlies entered their first NBA playoff series as the six-seed in the Western Conference, where they faced the defending NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs. It was a great showing by the eleventh ranked turnaround team in NBA history. Coach Hubie Brown was honored as NBA Coach of the Year.
