Haslam II

|
Jim Haslam
has been recognized for his leadership since his early years
as a starting tackle for the University of Tennessee 1951
national championship team.
He was chosen to be the team captain in 1952 and was ultimately
inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in 1986 for
his athletic accomplishments.

Now, decades
later, Jim Haslam is still being recognized for his outstanding
leadership. Haslam, Founder and Chairman of Pilot Corporation,
has spent much of his career serving in key roles for educational,
charitable and political endeavors in our state. He has served
on numerous Boards of Directors and has given countless hours
to civic organizations.
Since
1980, Haslam has served on the Board of Trustees for the University
of Tennessee. In addition, he is on the Athletic Board and
is currently Chairman of the Executive Committee. His experience
and leadership have helped shape one of the most highly regarded
athletic departments in the country. For the difference he
has made in our state, we honor Jim Haslam as "Tennessean
of the Year."
