2009 Female Amateur Athlete of the Year

Josie Earnest

As a member of the 2007-08 Commodore Bowling Team, Earnest was voted Player of the Year by NTPCA, first team All-America, led the Vanderbilt team with a 205 average in 63 games, with 52 of those games being over 200 including four top 5 finishes.

Earnest was named the 2008 National Player of the Year.


 



The prior season Earnest led the Commodores with a 198 average in 70 games and missed being named national Rookie of the Year by a single vote. She did earn second team All-America rights that season as well as MVP of the NCAA Tournament with 32 games over 200, 14 over 225 and a high of 268.

An active individual bowler as well, Earnest is a three time member of Junior Team USA where she earned four Gold Medals and one Silver at the PABCON Youth International Tournament in El Salvador, and earned two Gold, three Silver, and one Bronze at the Lee Evans Tournament of the Americas in Orlando in 2008.
