Heidi
Gillingham was one of those rare athletes who
could help raise a basketball program to the next level.
This
outstanding Vanderbilt center was the recipient of numerous honors and awards.
During her Commodore career, she was named first team All-American by Kodak, USBWA,
Basketball Times and Women's Basketball News Service in 1993, was a three-time
All-SEC selection, twice appeared on SEC Academic Honor Roll, Sports Illustrated
and SEC Player of the Week in '93, and was a member of Vanderbilt's first NCAA
Final Four team and was elected by the students as Homecoming Queen in 1993.
