Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame to host International Sports Heritage Association annual conference in 2014

July 11th, 2013

NASHVILLE—The Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame announced today that the International Sports Heritage Association (ISHA) Annual Conference, which took place in Newport, Rhode Island this past October, will mark it’s first time in Music City.  The 41st annual conference will take place from October 27-30, 2014 in Downtown Nashville.

The ISHA Annual Conference is held each fall at a member institution. The conference offers educational seminars, workshops, round-table discussions, a trade show, facility tours and a superb opportunity to network with your peers, all at the most cost effective price possible.  “This is a great opportunity for us to host such a prestigious event.  It is an additional opportunity to showcase Nashville to delegates from around the world and we at the Hall of Fame are thrilled,” said Dr. Bill Emendorfer, Executive Director of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame.

The conference will take place in the Bridgestone Arena and hosted by the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame, Levy Restaurants, the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau, Powers Management and the Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown.

The ISHA is a non-profit membership organization created in 1971 to assist sports museums and halls of fame to develop, operate and promote their facilities in the best way possible.  ISHA includes more than 130 members from countries such as China, Belgium, Switzerland, Singapore, Australia, Canada and the United States.

ISHA enables members to draw upon resources from the broader museum and corporate worlds for information on administration, development, collections management, public relations and merchandising.  It also offers a variety of services and opportunities for established sports museums and halls of fame, other related sports heritage organizations, and for people who may be thinking of establishing a new sports heritage organization.
