The Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders women’s basketball team will open the season hosting Tennessee for the fi rst time since 2009.
According to the schedule released Sunday, the Blue Raiders face the Lady Vols on Nov. 8. Last season, Tennessee beat MTSU 8881 in overtime November 28, 2012. The Lady Vols did not hold a lead until 4:24 remaining in the game. Tennessee won the 2009 meeting 69-52 inMurfreesboro.
The Lady Vols should be weary of the contest as they lost their season opener last season on the road to another in-state foe in Chattanooga.
MTSU will play 10 teams this season that reached postseason play last year.
The Blue Raiders are com ing off a 25 -8 season that included a regular season and tournament Sun Belt title, along with a school-record fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
