Amateur Team of the Year
In May, the Rhodes Women’s Golf team captured the 2017 NCAA Division III National Championship, the Lynx 2nd consecutive NCAA title and the 3rd National Championship earned by Rhodes in the last four years.
While Rhodes handily won the 2014 and 2016 National Championships, the 2017 title was won in dramatic fashion. Rhodes and George Fox were tied heading into the 72nd hole, where Rhodes played the final hole even par to win the National Championship by two strokes.
The team was led by senior Nikki Isaacson, who had two one-under 71 rounds in the tournament to finish as the individual runner up. Isaacson and fellow seniors Sarahanne Vaughan and Mackenzie Cohen depart the program with back to back NCAA titles and three National Championships during their career. Also, sophomore Emily Salamy shot a four-under 68 in the 2nd round, to set a new NCAA Division III tournament record.
Other team members include Mike Clary, Head Coach, Sam Kern, Assistant Coach/Swing Instructor, Maddie Rhodes, Alexa Calomiris, Melissa Kiker, Emily Salamy and Mary Melissa Manuel.
