Biography

Andy Kelly is one of the most successful quarterbacks in University of Tennessee history, remembered for his leadership and toughness under center.

Playing for the Volunteers from 1988 to 1991, Kelly set numerous passing records, finishing his career as the school’s all-time leader in passing yards and touchdowns at the time. He guided Tennessee to an SEC Championship in 1990 and was known for his poise in big games, earning a reputation as a fierce competitor who rallied his team in critical moments.

After college, Kelly enjoyed a long professional career in the Arena Football League, where he became one of the league’s most prolific passers and earned multiple All-Arena honors.

Beyond his playing career, Kelly has remained connected to Tennessee football, serving as a mentor and ambassador for the program. His induction into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame celebrates a career defined by record-setting achievements, leadership, and enduring Volunteer spirit.
