Biography

Shea Weber is one of hockey’s most dominant defensemen of his generation, leaving an indelible mark on Tennessee sports through his tenure with the Nashville Predators.

Drafted by the Predators in 2003, Weber quickly became known for his devastating slap shot, physical play, and elite leadership. As team captain from 2010 to 2016, he was the face of the franchise during its rise to prominence in the NHL.

A multiple-time NHL All-Star and Norris Trophy finalist, Weber also represented Canada on the international stage, winning two Olympic gold medals (2010, 2014) and a World Cup of Hockey title.

His commitment to the Nashville community, including work with local hospitals and youth hockey programs, endeared him to fans throughout Tennessee. Weber’s impact extended beyond the ice, helping establish the Predators as one of the NHL’s premier markets.

His induction into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame celebrates a career of excellence, leadership, and transformative influence on hockey in the state.
