Bob Brown played basketball at ETSU from 1974-1977.
He led ETSU in scoring, rebounding and FG percentage in 1975, 1976, and 1977, and is the only basketball player in ETSU history to average a double-double for an entire season (17.9 PPG and 14.2 RPG).
Brown was a career 1,000 point scorer at ETSU. In three games against Appalachian State, Eastern Kentucky and Western Carolina Bob Brown averaged 25 points and 20 rebounds per game. Brown scored the most points against American University ever (39 points) in 1976 on 11 – 13 shooting and 17 of 19 from the free throw line.
Brown was the first ETSU player to play two seasons in the European Pro Basketball League, and averaged 38 PPG and 17 RPG in 1978 and 1979.
His career high was 69 points in a single game.
Bob was inducted into the Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.
