Nashville Predators Play-By-Play Voice Pete Weber Named To Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026

February 26th, 2026

NASHVILLE, TN – February 19, 2026 – Longtime Nashville Predators play-by-play announcer Pete Weber has been named to the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026. Sponsored by the Tennessee Lottery, the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame honors individuals who have made a lasting impact on the history of sports in the state of Tennessee.

“For more than a quarter of a century, Pete Weber has been the voice behind some of the most unforgettable moments in Nashville sports,” said Brad Willis, Executive Director of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame. “His passion, professionalism, and unmistakable style helped introduce the NHL to Tennessee and connect generations of fans to the game of hockey. We are proud to welcome Pete Weber into the Class of 2026.”

Weber has served as the play-by-play voice of the Nashville Predators since the franchise’s inaugural season in 1998. Over more than 25 seasons, he has called more than 2,000 Predators games, narrating the growth of professional hockey in Middle Tennessee from expansion franchise to Stanley Cup Final contender.

Throughout his tenure, Weber’s distinctive calls have accompanied many of the organization’s defining milestones, including the team’s first victory, playoff breakthroughs, and Western Conference championship run. His broadcasting style — energetic, precise, and deeply knowledgeable — has made him one of the most recognizable voices in Tennessee sports.

Before arriving in Nashville, Weber built a distinguished national broadcasting career that included work in the National Hockey League, the National Football League, and the National Basketball Association. His versatility and longevity have earned him multiple honors, including numerous Tennessee Sportscaster of the Year awards.

“Pete’s impact goes beyond the booth,” Willis added. “He helped build the identity of the Nashville Predators and played an essential role in establishing hockey as a major sport in Tennessee. His voice is woven into the fabric of Nashville’s sports history.”

Weber joins Monica Abbott, Jennifer Azzi, Matt Cain, Mike Clary, the late Reggie Cobb, Antone Davis, Kermit Davis, Bubba Luckett, Charles McRae, and David Price as announced members of the 2026 Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame Induction Class. The full class will be announced over the coming weeks.

The 2026 Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, presented by the Tennessee Titans, will be held Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Omni Nashville Downtown. Ticket and event information will be announced at a later date.
