The Nashville Sounds won the third league championship in the franchise’s 28-year history in 2005, capturing their first-ever Class Triple-A title in the Pacific Coast League. The Sounds finished the 2005 season with a 75-69 record, winning the PCL American Conference Northern Division by three games over Omaha. Nashville’s record was sixth-best in the circuit. The Sounds enjoyed the 18th winning campaign in the franchise’s 28-year history. The exciting season included the Sound’s sixth triple-play in history and the largest standing-room-only crowd (12,644) to watch a game at Greer Stadium (August 20th against Oklahoma).
