Rochelle Stevens, a native of Memphis, has been a dazzling member of the world of track and field for 22 years. Coached by her Mom, Reverend Beatrice Holloway-Davis, Stevens attained the greatest heights in her sport. Stevens is a graduate of Melrose High School in Memphis where she was a TSSAA high school State Champion, a National High School All-American, a city champion and an AAU Junior Olympics National Champion. She continued her winning ways at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland where she received a Bachelors of Science in Telecommunications and Sales.
While in college, Stevens was a NCAA Division I 400 Meter Champion, an eleven-time NCAA All-American and the Morgan State University record holder in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 400 meters. Stevens was a four-time USA Track and Field National Champion and was ranked Top Ten in the World six times in the 400 meters (ranked #1 in the U.S. three times and in the top ten from 1987-1998). She competed internationally for the United States, including appearances at the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games. Stevens has won Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals in every major competition in the world.
In 1992, she was the Olympic Silver Medallist in the 4×400 meter relay and sixth place in the 400 meters. And in 1996, she earned an Olympic Gold Medal in the 4×400 relay. Stevens earned numberous medals in international competition before retiring in 2000.
Today, Stevens continues to be highly recommended by the U.S. Olympic Committee and the USA Track and Field Association as a spokesperson and motivational speaker. She has been the spokesperson for Fortune 500 Companies including Johnson Products, Maybelline, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Sara Lee, Nike and Bank of America. Stevens also maintains her own foundation which supports future Olympians in the South.
Each year, her foundation sponsors the Rochelle Stevens Invitational Track Meet and Sports Camp. She is the founder and CEO of Rochelle’s Health & Wellness Day Spa in Memphis.
