Having pitched in a World Series, started the All-Star Game and finished second in voting for the American League Cy Young Award by the age 25, former Vanderbilt University All-American and star pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays David Price, added another honor by winning the Warren Spahn Award, which goes each year to the top left-handed pitcher the Major Leagues. Price was 19-6 with a 2.72 ERA and finished behind Felix Hernandez in the Cy Young voting. A native of Murfreesboro, TN, Price was a star pitcher with the Vanderbilt Commodores for three seasons before signing with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2007.
