Ron Slay is one of the most dynamic and beloved basketball players in University of Tennessee history.

A fiery competitor and charismatic leader, Slay starred for the Volunteers from 1999 to 2003, earning SEC Player of the Year honors as a senior.

Known for his scoring ability, rebounding, and emotional energy, Slay was the heart of Tennessee’s teams, thrilling fans with his intensity and personality on the court.

After college, he enjoyed a lengthy professional career overseas, playing in top leagues across Europe while representing Tennessee basketball with pride internationally.

Off the court, Slay has become a popular broadcaster and ambassador for the sport, connecting with fans through his insight, humor, and passion for Tennessee athletics.

His induction into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame celebrates a career marked by exceptional talent, leadership, and an enduring bond with the Volunteer State’s basketball community.
