Jimmy Stanton, Tennessee senior associate athletics director for communications, is returning to the NFL.
The Tennessee Titans announced Thursday that Stanton has been hired as vice president of communications.
Stanton, who will jointhe Titans in June, will oversee digital media, media relations, community relations, broadcasting and production.
Stanton completed his master’s degree in sports management at UT in 1997, and spent the last six years with the Vols. He was promoted from his role as associate athletic director for communications inSeptember of 2013.
As a member of the athletic department’s executive staff, Stanton served as the primary spokesperson for the athletic department and coordinated media affairs for UT football coach Butch Jones.
This will be Stanton’s second stint with the Titans. He was an assistant director of media relationsfor the team during the 1999 and 2000 seasons.
