Coach Johnny Majors sent word Monday that he is pleased with his recovery from a heart-valve procedure.
“Under the circumstances, I feel very good,”Majors said in a statement released by University of Tennessee Medical Center.
The 1956 Heisman Trophy runner-up coached football at the University of Tennessee – his alma mater – from 1977 through1992.
He retired from coaching in 1996 at Pittsburgh, the school where he won the 1976 national championship in his first term with the Panthers.
