NASHVILLE, TN – Jan. 27, 2022 – David Suddeth, a former 3,000 point scorer for the Trevecca Trojans, learned Thursday he is the first Trevecca Nazarene University student-athlete elected to the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame, sponsored by the Tennessee Lottery.
During a halftime ceremony to honor Suddeth and fellow Trevecca Legend Jennifer Wilson, Brad Willis, Executive Director of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame, surprised Suddeth with news he is a 2022 Inductee of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame.
Suddeth is the second member of the 2022 class. Former Tennessee Titan defensive end Jevon Kearse was announced as the first on January 21.
Suddeth played for the Trojans from 1988-1992 and was a three-time NAIA All-American. Suddeth was not only was a prolific scorer, but he grabbed 993 rebounds (422 offensive rebounds), dished out 490 assists, claimed 276 steals, and blocked 92 shots.
“David is a Nashville native and is one of about only 30 players in the history of all divisions of college basketball to score 3,000 points,” Brad Willis, Executive Director of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame said. “We are excited that he is part of our class of 2022, and we are proud to have a member of the Trevecca Trojans represented in the Hall.”
Suddeth, the Trojans all-time leading scorer, was inducted into the Trevecca Hall of Fame in 1997.
Suddeth becomes the second announced member of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2022, joining Titans star defensive end Jevon Kearse, who was announced last week.
The full 2022 Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame Induction Class will be released in the coming weeks.
Information regarding tickets for the 2022 Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony, presented by the Tennessee Titans, will be announced at a later date.
